V2Box

Split tunneling in V2Box

Routing rules (iOS)

V2Box on iPhone and iPad supports flexible routing rules. Instead of picking apps (not available on iOS), you set domains and IPs: what goes through the VPN and what goes directly. Below is the step-by-step split tunneling setup in V2Box.

V2Box on iOS does not support per-app selection — use domain and IP routing rules instead.

  • Open V2Box and go to the Routing section.
  • Create a rule: mark the domains that should go through the VPN with the Proxy action.
  • For services that must connect directly (banking, government), set the Direct action.
  • Save the rules and reconnect to the server.

Benefits of split tunneling

Access to local services

Banking apps and government services often block access from foreign IPs. Split tunneling lets them work directly.

Saving resources

Traffic from heavy apps (games, cloud storage) can bypass the VPN to reduce CPU load and save battery.

FAQ

How do I make some sites bypass the VPN in V2Box?

In the Routing section create a Direct rule for those domains — they will connect directly, bypassing the VPN.

Does V2Box support app selection?

Per-app selection is limited by the system on iOS, so V2Box uses domain and IP rules instead.
